The village hall has opened in August for the first time since the lockdown. Much work has been done to ensure that users will be safe; a risk assessment has been conducted (using a sample form provided by our village hall advisors, see here) and all leaders of groups hiring the hall will be instructed to abide by new rules established in line with procedures established following the risk assessment. Hirers will be required to complete their own risk assessment according to their specific needs of the group
Some equipment has been modified or replaced to reduce touching surfaces with the hand, and sanitisers have been installed for people to use before and after touching surfaces. New signage has also been installed to give further instruction aimed at making the hall a safe environment. Social distancing rules will need to be observed and, accordingly, numbers may have to be restricted. Extra time will have to be allocated for pre and post session cleaning of surfaces and equipment.
For the safety of the community, contact details of all attendees will be taken and NHS Test and Trace well be informed of any suspected cases.
Copies of the instructions that will be given to hirers can be found here, and instructions that will be given to users can be found here.
At present few details are available about the activities taking place but information will be posted on the “News and Events” page as and when it becomes available. Private bookings can be made in the normal way.
Portinscale Village Hall is the heart of the community and is available for one-off or regular bookings. As an illustration, regular bookings that were available before the lockdown can be seen here.
