The Main Hall

 
            Licensed for 100 people standing (90 seated)
            Wooden sprung flooring
            Approx. 100 chairs (stored in Grisdale Room)
            Collapsible rectangular and square tables (stored in Grisdale Room)
            Audiovisual system consisting of:
                        Roof beam-mounted digital projector
                        4 wall-mounted speakers
                        Amplifier with range of inputs available –  you may need to bring your own cables                                             
                        Disc player for CD, DVD and Blue-ray formats
                        Hand-held, lapel and head microphones
                        Electrically operated screen
 
Grisdale Room
 
            Committee room suitable for meetings of 12 to 15 people
            Cupboards for storage of tables (mentioned earlier)
            50 chairs stored on 3 trolleys plus others (and more in attic)
            2 table tennis tables (in cupboard)
            Bar with selection of glassware – but bring your own booze!
            Doors for access to main hall, kitchen and emergency exit
 
Kitchen
            
            Rangemaster Professional range cooker with 2 electric ovens and hob with 5 gas rings
            Microwave oven
            Fridge-freezer
            Kettles and wall-mounted water boiler
            Range of crockery and cutlery
            Glassware for wine, sprits and soft drinks
            Range of saucepans and kitchen utensils
            Emergency exit door
            
Toilets
            Male and female toilets
            Wet room with shower, disabled and baby-changing facilities
 
The main hall is used for a wide range of activities including:
 
            Ballroom and folk dancing
            Yoga and exercise classes
            Table tennis
            Short mat bowling
            U3A groups
            Children's parties
            Wedding receptions
            Dinner dances
 
The hall is also used for overnight and longer stays, especially by RAF Mountain Rescue Teams while on training sessions and also scout groups. Portinscale is, of course, ideally situated for access to the Lakeland Fells.
